She's Out of My League - "Why.......

... would a "10" moviegoer go see a "3" movie?"

That is the question one must ask oneself in relation to this waste of celluloid (or digits, as the case may be)

The vulgarity could have been forgiven if the film was also smart, but it is as stupid and sophomoric as it is gross.
The stupidity might have been forgiven if the performances were excellent, but they are - at best - tolerable and mostly carp.

The crappy acting might have been forgiven if the cast was actually attractive, especially the "dreamgirl" referenced in the title, but I for one, fail to see what the big fuss is about.

So this movie has nothing to recommend it, unless your terminally bored and stuck with xtra cash.

Coming Soon: Jennifer Lopez has a baby & Freddy's back

Look out over the coming weeks for reviews of the new Nightmare on Elm Street, with Watchmen's Jackie earl Harley (Rorschach) as blade-fingered Freddie, and The back-Up Plan, the new romantic comedy vehicle for Jennifer Lopez (who has the nerve to boast that she now has a slimmer ass)

The Green Zone: "if You Can Get past the Noise....

....there's a decent, if almost over-earnest movie here, as Matt Damon reunites with his Jason Bourne agitator, director Paul Greengrass. Seems Damon really wants us to take him seriosuly of late (this follows his Oscar-nominated turn as a S Aricna rugby team captain in the plodding Invictus

With the passage of time, its become okay to mount an upfront rebuttal of the WMD argument put forward by GW Bush and his cohorts as the reason for invading Iraq, and from Greengrass' direction and Brian Helgeland's script some pertinent questions are raised.

Still, there's more than enough gunplay for action-heads to feast on. In fact, its almost constant throughout the movie, the sub-plot peeking sheepishly through the hails of gunfire.

Damon is, as expected, solidly competent in the lead role, as is the underrated Greg Kinnear i nrole of the Washington technocrat selling the whole pack of lies, but it's the supports who really shine in this movie, especially Khalid Abdalla as Freddy (Fareed), a local who approaches Damon's unit and becomes his right hand...well, sort of.

if you have no interest in the Iraqi War shenenigans, then maybe Green Zone is not your movie, but otherwise, you could do worse. Having not viewed the Oscar-conquering Hurt Locker might actually be a plus since this movie gets the opportunity to stand on its own. And stand it does.

Clash of the Titans: Not All its "Krakked" up to be

Score one each for Gemma Arterton (soooo hot) and Ralph Fienses (sooo creepy & evil) and a big fat ZERO for the Kraken.

At god of ogods' Zeus' command, "Unleash the Kraken!!" one expected a ultra-massive 'wow' factor but the creature that emerged for the "money shot" in this mythological remake, but this Kraken looks like a Muppet Show reject on steroids.

Sam Worthington is just average here as Perseus, but the supporting cast almost redeems the film, as do the other creature effects, including the Stygian witches, the giant desert scorpions and last, but not least, Medusa.
A film u can spend some time with, but overall, not something u wanna rush to the cinemas to watch.
